Description

In honor of Dr. Alberta Sbragia’s contributions to EU studies, comparative federalism, comparative regionalism, and comparative policy-making, the European Studies Center (ESC) at the University of Pittsburgh, a Jean Monnet Center of Excellence, will be hosting a symposium November 8-10, 2018, tentatively titled “Comparative Governance in Europe: A Symposium in Honor of Alberta Sbragia.” We invite individuals who are interested in participating in the symposium to submit abstracts focusing on any of these substantive areas that connect to Dr. Sbragia’s work.

If you are interested in participating, please submit a 250-word abstract to Jae-Jae Spoon (spoonj@pitt.edu) by July 10th. In your submission, please include your name, affiliation, your connection to Dr. Sbragia (if applicable) and if you would be interested in contributing to a special issue or edited volume. Notifications will be made by July 25th.

Thanks to the generous support of the University of Pittsburgh, the ESC will cover travel, lodging and meals for most selected applicants. Additional funding may be available to cover all participants’ costs (pending an external funding decision due in July). Final confirmation of participation will not be required until after final funding notifications have been issued.
