The research field (or expertise) for the permanent position (or scholar) is the relationship between knowledge and democracy in a transforming Europe. The position is announced within ARENA's broader research fields, but in particular the Research Council of Norway-funded Democracy and Expert Rule: The Quest for Reflexive Legitimacy (REFLEX) project (2016-2021).
ARENA is primarily looking for a researcher at a senior level. Our employees do not have teaching obligations, but contribute to the centre's portfolio of externally funded projects including new research initiatives.
ARENA is a highly renowned centre for research on the transformation of Europe, in particular on the processes of political change. It aims at theoretically founded and innovative research. ARENA offers a stimulating intellectual environment for cooperation and scholarly debate. The centre and its research projects generally receive excellent evaluations. ARENA hosts several nationally and internationally funded research projects and is engaged in a series of international networks.
