JOHN McCORMICK

is Professor of Political Science at Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI). He teaches courses on comparative politics and the politics of the European Union, as well as seminars on British politics and transatlantic relations. He has also taught at the universities of Exeter and Sussex in Britain, and at the College of Europe in Belgium.

McCormick is author of Understanding the European Union (Palgrave Macmillan, fourth edition 2007), The European Union: Politics and Policies (Westview, fourth edition 2008), and Environmental Policy in the European Union (Palgrave Macmillan, 2001). Book chapters include: Policy Performance in the European Union in Eleanor Zeff and Ellen Pirro (Eds), The European Union and the Member States: Cooperation, Coordination and Compromise (Boulder, CO: Lynne Rienner, second edition 2006).

Every April, he organizes an intercolleagiate simulation of the European Union in Indianapolis. The last event was attended by more than 175 students from 12 universities.
